Weekend in Tampa Bay: Beer, festivals, and markets galore

Tampa, Florida (WFLA) – It’s another busy weekend in the Tampa Bay area and there’s fun for the whole family on deck.

There are plenty of events and festivals dedicated to beer for adults, from Bolts Brew Fest at the Amalie Arena to the Bay Cannon Beer Company that celebrates its birthday in West Tampa. Families can also venture through the markets in Saint Petersburg and Planet City too.

Location: 401 Channelside Dr, Tampa

Bolts Brew Fest 2022 is scheduled for Friday at the Amalie Arena. VIP entry starts at 6 PM, general entry starts at 8 PM and lasts until 10:30 PM

The event will feature hundreds of beer options from over 50 local, national and international brands. The event will also include games, photo opportunities, and other fun surprises.

Location: 5202 Tonutsasa Road, Plant City

Shop local at Keel Farms on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the winery’s local craft market festival.

Local vendors will sell artwork, household goods, jewelry, and more.

Location: 2200 2nd Ave S, Saint Petersburg

The largest monthly booze market will take place in Tampa Bay in Saint Petersburg this weekend from 4-5 p.m.

Treasures include antique d├ęcor, furniture, clothing, jewelry, antiques and more.

The market is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is free, outside of “First Dibs Friday,” which takes place August 5, for $5 admission.

A musical fairy tale history of Jose Gaspar will be presented at the Tampa Fringe on Saturday at 9 p.m.

“Rumors have been circulating for centuries! Was pirate Gaspar really a woman? Meet Gasparella, the girl who’s always felt a little ‘different’,” says the event’s Facebook page.

Location: 1120 East Kennedy Blvd, Suite 151, Tampa

Elegant Evening Events presents the Wedding Fair “Date Night” on Saturdays from 7-11pm

The event will showcase local wedding vendors as well as a bridal fashion show, showcasing gowns, suits, tuxedos and more.

A question-and-answer period with industry professionals is also planned.

Tickets are available online and range from $20 to $40.

Location: 4813 N Grady Ave, Tampa

Two Shepherds Taproom, Tampa’s first dog bar, hosts a Veterans Meet Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The veteran owned Liberty Smokehouse food truck will serve food from noon until 9pm

Owning a dog is not a requirement for this event, but those with young ones must pre-register and upload vaccination records online.

The Bay Cannon Beer Company in West Tampa is celebrating its third anniversary with new releases of beer, food, and live music.

Location: 1602 W Snow Ave, Tampa

The Fresh Market takes place every first Sunday of the month in Hyde Park Village from 10am to 3pm

The farmers market has over 80 local vendors selling produce, handmade goods and more.

The event is pet friendly.
