  • Average Daily Volume (ADV) in SPX options that expire on the trade date hit an all-time high at 880 thousand contracts, which represents 42 percent of the volume of S&P 500 (SPX) index options.

  • SPX Weeklys Tuesday and Thursday options continued their strong debut, with a total volume of 4.8 million options on Tuesday and 4.6 million options on Thursday traded in July.

  • ADV options overridden in Mini-SPX (XSP) 31 K Contracts in July, the highest month since then March 2020.

Canadian stocks

  • Cboe BIDS Canada, a new Canadian stock trading venue that launched in February, set an ADV record in the conditional order book for the second month in a row with 1.09 million shares traded per day on average in July.

  • Cboe Europe Equities captured a total market share of 24.7 percent in July, the highest month since January 2016.

  • Cboe BIDS Europe, Cboe’s European block trading platform, captured a 35 percent share of the LIS (high volume) market in July, a record number making it the largest platform of its kind for the fourth consecutive month (source: big xyt).
