As a former Federal Minister for Innovation, Science, and Industry, Mr. Pines has been responsible for research and development, science and innovation policy. As part of CIBC’s Capital Markets team, he focuses on developing and strengthening high-level client relationships and global business development, with deep experience in the innovation, sustainability and industry sectors.
Dr. Gorman has over 16 years of experience in biotechnology, equity research, life sciences and investment banking, with a focus in healthcare and communications. Prior to joining CIBC, Dr. Gorman worked in investment banking for a full service agent in Canada advising on strategic alternatives in the Canadian healthcare industry. Most recently, he led some of the largest healthcare IPOs in TSX history.

Through their own networks, members support awareness of the importance of life science innovation in Canadaas well as the role of innovation pools such as MIP in the regional life sciences ecosystem.
